What is with this little blue box?

The unmistakeable Tiffany Blue Box. For us women and maybe even some men, we swoon over what could be inside! But you know one thing before you even open the box; that you are getting what is considered this best no matter what is inside. For me this color has been inspiring for some projects as well as some products for the store. I keep sending my best friend, Jamie (who adores all things Tiffany) little things to keep her pocket book empty. I am like hey look at this bracelet you need this, or this scarf would look amazing on your new Italian Handbag! She might de-friend me if I keep it up! We have also been adding this color here and there around her home. You should definitely be surrounded by the things you love, or that you are drawn to, or creates the mood you want to evoke in a room.

This color is actually pretty inspiring for you home or your wardrobe! This color is popping up everywhere around me, in vintage items, in a powder room remodel, and in handbags! (Stay tuned for the powder room remodel! We are giving this little room some sass and class) The point is, it is amazing how a distinctive color can transcend so many things, luxury in this case, along with class, as well as quality, or even your emotion.
For your wardrobe it can be a pop of color that brightens your day along with everyone else's! And for your home, mixed with silvers and golds (yes you can mix metals) with black an white photography prints, or even a more bold abstract art can make a statement. Even as something small like a vase can add that little pop your room might be missing. And I must say that Tiffany catalogs I keep receiving in the mail definitely has kept this color in my creative process.

So what color do you love? What is missing in your home or wardrobe? It could be this nice Tiffany Blue..

This Italian Leather Handbag as well as the Vintage Tiffany & Co. Key Ring are available on my online store.

For paint, if you have a Tiffany Box, or Catalog, you can take it to your local Home Depot or Sherman Williams and they can scan/match the color for you.

Shame on Me!

Wow! It has been over a year since I have blogged, shame on me!! But that is not to say this girl hasn't been busy, because boy have I ever!

The Kingery Manor
I have been working with an amazing client, The Kingery's, transforming their beautiful english cottage into an amazing english manor. This house has so much character, talk about a dream project getting to help make this home perfect for the Kingery's, JFK stayed in the house while campaigning, how cool is that? One more neat fact, this stone on this house was quarried from the rock that it sits on!

I have also been busy assisting my husband with his construction business (Precision Specialities), and I am so lucky because he makes my thoughts, sketches, designs a reality for me and all our customers!

And a very new huge project that I have embarked on with my Mom, is we are opening a a brick and mortar store in Ripley, West Virginia, the place of the largest small town 4th of July Celebration, and it just happens to be where I grew up! It is coming along, we have been remodeling the whole thing, to make it spectacular inside, it is very exciting, and labor intensive! We haven't set an opening date yet, so stay tuned for that, in the meantime you can shop at our online store (www.squattywing.com).
What is special about this store, we have worked hard to find product that is beautiful, sophisticated, luxury, and still affordable. There will be everything from home decor, women's apparel, and we didn't forget the men either!

So between buying for the store, working on the store, assisting the husband with the construction business and getting to work at the Kingery Manor, life has been busy! But very exciting! So I will do my best to write more, because I think the journey is so important to share with everyone.

I am pledging that I will do better on sharing my comic, frustrating, and enjoyable journey with everyone, and sorry for long departure!

Hardships of Remodeling

No one said it was going to go smooth as pie, but one could only hope! Right?

Unfortunately our kitchen renovation just keeps lingering on. The fabulous marble flooring I picked out, has turned into the biggest pain in my side. Most of the tile came in flawed (rust stains from packaging), so I have been working with my vendor to acquire more tile to finish the floor for months, and to our dismay we learned that they sold their entire stock to Lowes. So up to Lowes I go and order, with hopes we might be able to get this kitchen to completion very soon! Only to find that the lots do not match when it comes in.

So now my sweet husband Beau is removing all the tile that was put down and now I have to find that perfect fit for the Kitchen, again.

I just keep telling myself that the end result will soon be here! Hopefully sooner than later! And in the middle of all of this, a portion of our beautiful clay tile roof has been blown off by the insane storms we have been having, and I have decided to spruce up the house!
I must say that my husband does to deserve "Husband of the Year!"
If he doesn't kill me first!

April Showers Bring May Flowers! I am so looking forward to May!
