Behr Paint
If you are starting a painting project, then I highly suggest looking at Behr paint. They have a new paint that is a primer and color in one. I have used lots of paints, but nothing has been as great as this to work with. They have loads of color options to choose from, you can pick this paint up at your local Home Depot. Visit the link above to start browsing colors and room ideas!
Happy Painting!

This room is missing something? Oh, I know the curtains!
Have you ever walked into a room and felt like there is something missing?
In my head I think, "This place could use some CURTAINS!"
Curtains can be an inexpensive update if shopping at the right store. Like picking up some nice curtain rods at Big Lots, Target, and Lowes. Not to mention these places have inexpensive curtains to go with the rods. Oh, and check out your local HomeGoods and TJ Maxx too! So what I am saying if you think your room needs warmed up and softened, then think CURTAINS!
This is a good example of how curtains and paint can completely change the look of a room.

Don't always think you have to hang a picture
You don't always have to hang a picture to give an area some pizazz!
I found these beautiful lanterns at our local TJ Maxx, and said the myself "Why can't I hang these in the house, why do they have to be outside?" And then I immediately knew what to do with them. I have a small foyer at the bottom of my stairs that has lacked some luster for some time. I knew these would not only add to the aesthetics of this area, but also give this space ambiance and dimension. Sure wall art is wonderful! I am the number one fan of art. But sometimes stepping away from the regular, one can create something spectacular!
Enjoy!

Making Something Out of Nothing!
This is an affordable way to get yourself some storage and still be stylish. For only $100 I was able to transform this empty area that was really just "nothing" into a useful storage area in my kitchen. With today's economic climate, I am always looking for ways to improve my home without depleting my checking account. This proves with a little time, and a little money, you can make something out of nothing!
Materials used for the Job:
1. Copper Pipe
2. Curtain Rings
3. Industrial Shelving ($20 a piece from Home Depot)
4. Linen Fabric
5. Gorilla Glue
6. Some Screws to place the new created rod.
& 7. And of course some time to put it all together!

The Original Avatar Creator
I have been following this artist practically since I have been out of college. Velda Anderson is a local artist from my hometown of Ripley, West Virginia. I believe she is the original Avatar creator, sorry James Cameron. Her oil paintings are very dreamy and whimsical, yet evoke thought and have meaning. She has been featured at the Mountain State Arts & Craft Fair for many years, and I am proud to say that this year I have a acquired her original oil painting "Renaissance Woman" (pictured above). I spoke with the artist about what this painting meant to her, and she said this painting represents a process of renewing yourself. Her artist hand is unique and always a nice surprise.

It is official I am Bloglovin!
I am thrilled to be sharing my ideas, thoughts and creative journey. I hope to post ideas that will inspire you to make your home a place to be proud of, and that showcases your personality.
My recent find was at a local mission store right here in Charleston, WV. I just couldn't pass it up. It is an original oil painting that I picked up for the enormous amount of $2.00. That is right, just a measly two bucks! Enjoy.

They told me, "Smile!" Things could be worse." So I did. And they were.
